So anyway, my first dream had to do with an office worker I had a crush on back when I worked as a graphic artist for a shampoo company in the early nineties. She's two years older that I am (we were in our late twenties then), she stood about five feet tall but she was very, very cute and I thought the world for her. Of course she hates me like the plague but hey, who doesn't? (Am I right, people?)
The dream doesn't offer much. In it, she and her friend (another of my former co-worker) were working at a different job at a mall (the company I worked for had gone belly up by now). As in real life, we hardly ever spoke to each other. She just sat in a booth and I stood there looking pretty much like an idiot as the other officemate tended to my order...whatever that was. But it was still nice to see them after all these years.
My second dream was very, very weird. It was at home....early morning...about 5:00 AM or so. Usually I sleep alone in my room. In my dream, there were three of us: my brother and someone esle who I assumed was one of his friends. Our beds were placed in a U-formation along the walls. But that wasn't the weird part. As I "woke up", I heard my mother chanting something downstairs. I sounded so weird that I had to get up and see what was happening. As I went down the stairs, I saw this weird plant thing. And it was moving, as if doing its morning calisthenics. Downstairs, there was this huge crab that was about to be cooked. And it too was moving albeit in a menacing way.
Thankfully, my third and last dream was anything but threatening. It began with me watching a YouTube video of my favorite Japanese singer Megumi Hayashibara. The odd thing about the dream was that she and her husband were supposed to be guests in our house. Unlike in my previous dream which took place in our current 1282 address, this one took place at our old 1306 address.

My first dream entry in a long while turned out to be my first nightmare entry in a long while too.
I'm not sure but I think it all began before I fell asleep last night. In my novels, I always try to come up with pun names for my characters. Last night, I was thinking about the JFK assassination and came up with the name Degrassi Knoll...or Degrassi Knowles. Yes, it's corny as heck. That's probably why my subconsious revolted.
In my dream, the family was staying either at home or at a hotel...considering that we were all packed in one room. The curious thing about it was that not only was my nephew there...but also my estranged sister-in-law. And true to character she hates me in my dream just as she does in real life...considering the way she sneered at me.
So anyway, it was late at night and it was raining real hard. That made the place real creepy and I was sure that the place was haunted. Against my better judgment, I decided to get up and go to the bathroom. I heard my sister-in-law cackling behind me and as I do in real life, I ignored her. I got into the bathroom...and as soon as I closed the the water from the sink and the shower began splashing into the walls for no apparent reason. For me that was a sure sign that the place was haunted...and I panicked. I tried to get out but there was no doorknob. The only way I could get out was the small hole in the door where I'd have to fit my finger so I could open the door.
I screamed for help but I was out of breath and my voice didn't quite carry. It was then that I turned towards the shower area and I saw...the ghost. It looked like a real person but I couldn't tell its gender. The face looked feminine but the body was masculine. The ghost was wrapped in a white towel from the chest down. Was he/she/it Degrassi Knoll/Knwoles?
And after seeing the ghost...I woke up.

Even though it’s September here in the Philippines…the start of the “ber” months…which is also the start of the Christmas season…it’s still raining cats and dogs. Hey, American comedian Richard Lewis didn’t call the Philippines “Typhoon Country” for nothing.
In my dream this morning, it was raining cats and dogs as well. In fact it was raining so hard, we went to a hotel to stay the night (presumably because the roof is leaking at home as it is in real life). The hotel that we stayed in looked like a dump. You’d think the roof would leak there as well. But when we arrived, it wasn’t raining yet. As we waited for the rain to come, I’d look out the window where we’d see dark clouds in the horizon. But they weren’t any ordinary dark clouds. These clouds would take on some really, dare I say, “artsy” appearance.
At one point, the clouds look like a tornado. But this tornado looked like some sort of curio painting...the wind looked like blue brushstrokes dancing in the distance. Later, the cloud would look menacingly black…but in such a way that looked like someone poured dark chocolate into a glass filled with water.
Eventually, the rain came and yep, the roof leaked like crazy. In fact, it leaked worse than it did at home in real life. Thankfully, there were three buckets at the ready. But it didn’t matter because it was raining so hard the buckets would fill up quickly and I had to dump all the rainwater in the bathroom. The floor was almost flodded.
And as the rain poured down, I looked out the window and saw a group of twentysomethings on the roof of a nearby hotel. They were drenched and at one point, they stripped down to their bathing suits and acted as if they were in that movie “Beach Blanket Bingo”.

I don't remember much about my dream this morning. (Oddly enough, I'm writing this at 11:09 P.M.) The only thing I remember is that my dream looked like the Cartoon Network show "Dexter's Laboratory"...except that Dexter's father looks like the "American Dad". I don't think I actually see him "onscreen" but I did "hear" his distinct voice quite clearly. In the scene, Dexter's mom faints. Why? I don't know. Weird.

I’m not a card-carrying member of the NRA. But I have handled guns and I’ve even fired an M-16 during my ROTC training back in college. In my dream, I was trying to learn how to fire a sniper rifle. Why? I’ll get to that later.
The gun I was using was a cool li’l number because for some reason, the scope had a built-in flashlight feature. Anyway, I was in this room with a bunch of friends and relatives (?!?) and they told me to practice firing the sniper rifle. The room was circular measuring about 3 meters in diameter. The walls made of rough-hewn stone were lined with cabinets that had sunken overhead lighting. The effect of the room was Modern Medieval…sort of. I wondered then where I could aim the rifle in that small room…filled with a bunch of people. Hmmm…
It was then that I looked up and spied a shaft in the ceiling above me. It was a tall shaft that must be part of a spire. I decided then to use the top of the spire as target practice. The good news was that the rifle’s flashlight feature illuminated the spire quite nicely. That bad news was that every time I’d get a bead on my target I’d always get distracted…such as people make noise, talking to me or walking in front of me. After a couple of tries, I gave up on the spire and looked around the room for a new target. (Remember. It was filled with a bunch of people. Hmmm…)
It was then that I decided to use the lighting fixtures as my targets. I first aimed the ones to my left…then the ones to my right (Gesundheit!). But it was no use as the distractions continued. (It’s a wonder why nobody got shot in that dream.)
But finally, I got a bead on one of the lighting fixtures. I took careful aim…held my breath…squeezed the trigger and—wouldn’t you know it? The bullet jammed in the firing chamber. “Ah, @#$%^&*()-+=! it! I give up!”
Anyway, the reason why I was told to practice firing a rifle was that the place we lived in (which looked like a castle) was about to be invaded by this weird creature that was described as something like the Grendel from the epic poem “Beowulf” (coming to theaters in November 16, 2007!). I was given a book that was supposed to show what the creature looked like. Two odd things about the book: 1) the creature looked like a female mummy. 2) why was the book titled “Oz”?
As I was reading the book, I heard my nephew Gabriel in the balcony crying. But it wasn’t because of the gun or the creature. It was because he didn’t get the toy that he was promised…poor guy.

Well…not exactly “Part 2”. In this dream, I was in Sta. Rosa, Laguna accompanying a former “Starstruck” contestant who was to interview Nadine Samonte. Nadine currently lives in Sta Rosa and she was a “Starstruck” contestant herself. For the record, I don’t know who the actor is and I’ve never been to Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
We found Nadine in a small apartment in a place that looks kind of like the corner of Taft Avenue and Buendia (the LRT is very visible). In reality, Nadine lives in a big house in a Sta. Rosa subdivision…which Nadine paid for with her earnings as an actress.
After quick introductions, the interview was undeway. The interview included short comedic skits and in one of them, Nadine held a kitchen knife to my nose a la Roman Polanski’s “Chinatown”. (I wonder if she was trying to tell me something then.) During the interview, I even spied one of my high school classmates walking the street.
And as the interview wound down, I tried to figure how I was going to go home. I remember the actor and I commuted to Sta. Rosa on a bus. It was then that I spied a jeepney whose drop off point was a supermarket. Shortly after though, I’d forgotten the name of the superarket and I remember snapping my fingers trying to decide whether it was, “Puremarket? Puregold?”
After the interview ended, the actor and I got into an argument. He said he wasn’t familiar with the bus route we took and begged me to accompany him home to Sta. Rosa, Laguna…which was odd considering that that was where we were all along.

My dream this morning is the closest thing I have to a nightmare in years. And it was scary during the last second.
In it, I was at home...and home looked kind of like one of those abandoned ICBM silos that had since been converted into residences. (I hear your could buy those for a buck back then.)
Anyway, I was lounging at home...in the bedroom...in bed...listening to some tunes on a portable mp3 player (which I don't have in real life).
Suddenly, there was this small eagle that began hovering in front of me. It was a golden eagle and what was weird about it was the way it hovered. Instead of flapping its wings, this one hovered in mid-air...vertically! Its wings were still as its beak pointed straight up and its tail pointe straight down. The way it hovered, it looked like the head of a fish dangling in mid-air. And it gets weirder!
As it floated in mid-air, it seemed to sway side to side as if dancing the waltz. (Johann Strauss' Blue Danube Waltz would have made for great accompaniment.) The eagle did that for a couple of seconds. Then without warning, it fell to my chest! I thought it might have died or something! When I removed the eagle from my chest, it looked like a total wreck! It seemed like some of its body parts were missing...particuarly its head! No offense to all you eagles out there but...EUWGH!
After that, I placed the eagle on the bed next to me and...IT LEAPED INTO THE AIR!
I screamed....and woke up.

Continuing my celebrity motif, I dreamt about Sandara Park this morning. Sandara is a Korean actress who’s currently working here in the Philippines.
This is the third time I’ve dreamt about Sandara (“Sandy” to her fans). The first time I dreamt about her, the dream looked like this:

This is from Sandy’s TV musical special "Sandara: Ang Pambansang Krung-Krung ng Pilipinas". In the TV special, she wore a pink gown. I changed it to blue to match my dream. As Sandy sang on stage, I, along with the rest of the audience, milled around the stage.
In my second dream, I was at this shindig at a place that looked like a cross between Intramuros and a Chinese garden. It was early evening and Sandy and I were leaning against a huge rectangular well that’s made of stone. Sandy seemed transfixed by a lake in front of us. It was covered in fog giving it a dream-like quality. I looked at the well behind us and noted that it was very old and covered with moss. I was about to ask Sandy if they had wells like that in Korea when suddenly, the party ended. People climbed up the stone stairs to where Sandy and I were. Among those people was Shaina Magdayao…but that’s another story.
In my dream this morning, I was supposedly going to this big movie premiere. I didn’t know which movie it was (Star Wars? Transformers?). I later found out that it was Sandy’s new movie. In this dream, I didn’t get to see Sandy in person. Instead, I saw scenes of her at the premiere where she’d sing to the audience before the movie was shown. But instead of singing in front of the audience, she was in the lodge/deluxe section moving up and down the stairs as she sang. In one scene, she was singing to a group of high school girls, much to their delight.
The scene shifted outside the movie house where a group of people discussed Sandy’s next show. It was an out-of-town show commemorating Rizal Day. The show was set up by…well, I’m not gonna say who they are except that they’re a powerful political family.

Nadine Samonte is a popular Filipina-German actress currently working in the Philippines. Check out her Wikipedia profiles in English and Tagalog. (I wrote the latter).
I don't remember much of this dream. From what I do remember, I was part of a group of travelers (hikers?) that for some reason included Nadine Samonte. When we returned to "home base" (a hotel maybe), everyone in the group was dog-tired and we briefly convened in a room. After that, everybody retired to their respective rooms. But before I could return to mine, I saw Nadine Samonte plop into a chair and doze off. I wondered if she was ill and began to feel her forehead to see if she had a fever. It was then that her boyfriend emerged from an adjoining room and proceeded to see if Nadine was all right. Soon after, he gently woke up Nadine whereupon they left the room together.
Left on my own, I switched on one of the TV sets to while the time away. It was then that two suspicious-looking men entered the room. One of them switched on another TV set while another lounged in bed...his head perched in front of yet a third TV set. They looked very suspicious that I barked at one of them and demanded he surrender the TV remote controls. I don't know why but in hindsight, it was weird.

Boy, am I in a bind right now! I live in a crappy neighborhood. I have health problems. And most recently, I have financial problems as well. The way I feel right now, I wish I were on a vacation! And this morning, I got my wish...sort of.
I dreamt I was in a vacation somewhere far away. I don't know where it was exactly but I know the commute was rather long. I'm not sure how I got there (Jeep? Bus?) but I get a clue later in the dream. The place itself was a mystery. Right now, I'm guessing it might be the so-called "Mountain Province"...what with the presence of people that looked like Igorots as well as chapels that boast of Spanish architectural details that make them look like the Barasoain Church.
As in most of my dreams, the place had many quirks:
1. I remember encountering certain relics in my dream that made the place look like ancient Egypt for some reason. That's probably because I was watching "The Mummy Returns" on cable late last night and early this morning.
2. Outside one of the chapels was a huge stylized statue of a little Igorot boy. The statue must have been illuminated by a lamp of some sort because it glowed a pink-purple-sky blue color.
3. Chapels are usually adorned with a crucifix above its entrance to identify it as belonging to a Christian denomination. The chapels in my dream were adorned with something else. In fact, one of them was adorned by a Chinese-Japanese letter. Basically, it was a cross that has a line underneath. It forms the word "shi" which means "warrior".
Despite these (or because of these) the dream had a pleasant quality to it. The place was sunny...marked by a clear blue morning sky. Looking at the sky, I found myself trying to figure out how to get home. It was then that I spied the LRT but not the LRT as I knew it. Instead of being perched on drab monolithic stone piers, this LRT stood on top of a bright yellow aqueduct-like structure with arches adorned by red bricks.

Well, we're midway through the Major League Baseball season. I get to watch games every weekend on ESPN and that's probably why I had this dream:
In it, I got the opportunity to watch a baseball game live. It was a late afternoon game and I had a seat up in the terrace. As we waited for the game to start, I watched the crowd as they cheered their favorite baseball team. They were very enthusiastic as they cheered and clapped their hands. I even saw a guy and his five year old daughter cheerfully clapping their hands with the rest of the crowd.
When I woke up, I noticed something was wrong with my dream: although I had a good view of the crowd, from where I was sitting, I couldn't see the playing field!

I don’t remember much about my dream this morning except that my brother and I were to deliver something to the South Cemetery in Makati City. In my dream, the South Cemetery was located along J.P. Rizal Street. In reality, it’s located along Kalayaan Avenue running alongside J.P. Rizal.
Aside from the main gate, people enter and exit the South Cemetery by going over the wall along its perimeter. In my dream, my brother and I went through a hole in the wall.
This might seem a morbid dream to some but not me. After all, I used to work in a cemetery myself. It was back in 1992, when I worked for my uncle. Back then, he asked me to oversee the construction of his parents’ mausoleum in the North Cemetery in La Loma, Quezon City. I spent about three months in the North Cemetery and I’d since gotten used to walking the land of the dead.
By the way, that thing in my dream about going through a hole in a wall in the cemetery happened in real life too. It’s quite a long story, so I’ll just save that for another time.

I had two dreams this morning.
In the first dream, I was watching a "Tensai Terebikun MAX" anniversary show on TV. For those of you who don't know, Tensai Terebikun MAX is a Japanese variety show that airs daily on NHK. It's a youth-oriented show that's similar to say, the Mickey Mouse Club.
In my dream, the show was celebrating its anniversary...five years...ten years...I couldn't remember. In the show, younger cast members were asked to impersonate older cast members. Chihiro Murata impersonated her friend Nanase Iwai. She even wore Nanase's "trademark" pilot's helmet and goggles.
Nozomi de Lancquesaing impersonated someone whose name had something to do with the number "4". I don't know who that was but apparently Nozomi parodied the name as "(1)x(1)x" as indicated by the screen graphics. That was weird. Also, he pronounced "(1)x(1)x" as "Iki-Iki" for some reason. That was even weirder. But the weirdest part was the fact that "Nozomi de Lancquesaing" looked more like another cast member Vance Yuuki.
Then there was my favorite: Ema Kondou. In a show that was supposed to be an "X" year anniversary of Tensai Terebikun Max, Ema looked very, very young. In fact, she resembled TTM newcomer Melody Chubbuck. On top of that, she was blonde in my dream (Ema has brown hair). She also wore glasses (which she'd do during "newscasts") and a green smock. I miss Ema.
In my second dream, I was wandering around the streets of Quiapo one early evening. It was 6:00 P.M. and I had two hours to play hookey. It was then that I spied a "dollar theater" that was playing "Independence Day". I haven't seen "Independence Day" in a theater since 1996 so called up my parents saying I'll be watching a movie and will be coming home late.
But as I got to the theater I was surprised to see my father there. He asked me if I was still going to watch ID4 and I said "yes". So I went insaide the theater and I was rather surprised to see a sizable crowd inside. I then proceeded to the front row seats. I always sit in the front row everytime I see a movie in a theater.
The odd thing was, as we waited for the movie to start, we were entertained by some sort of local documentary. Apparently, the sound from the documentary was coming from a TV set above and in front of me. I looked front and I found myself in front of a...bookstore? (?!?)

I had three dreams this morning. But I couldn’t remember the third one so here are the first two:
I was watching “Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle” yesterday and I was surprised to learn that the guys who wrote the script for the movie were Cormac and Marianne Wibberley. They were the same ones who wrote the script for “National Treasure” (erroneously attributed to “Pirates” scribes Terry Rossio and Ted Elliot). You might not notice the connection until you hear Cameron Diaz going on about clues referring to a place on the Hollywood strip where gangsters were supposed to meet. Her line which includes words like "star" and "galaxy" is similar to Nicholas Cage’s “The secret lies with Charlotte” line in “National Treasure”.
Anyway, in my dream we were following clues leading to some secret treasure. Besides, “me”, I don’t remember who the rest of the “we” were. We were in this dingy corner of a rundown alley of a slum district where we were supposed to be looking for writings on a wall. It was then that I found myself staring at this concrete wall and for some reason; that was where I imagined the writings were supposed to be (hidden by paint, I presumed). I walked over to the wall and began rubbing the paint off and…sure enough, there was writing underneath.
My next dream is kind of embarrassing. In it, I was a Jedi Knight. That’s not the embarrassing part. I'm a huge Star Wars fan and if someone asked me what my religion was, I’d mark myself down as a Jedi straight away. No. The embarrassing part is while I dreamt of myself as a Jedi, I dreamt of myself as the worst Jedi in the galaxy.
In my dream, I was a Jedi…and I’d done something really, really stupid…and really, really catastrophic. I don’t remember what it was but…well, imagine Jar Jar as a Jedi Knight and you’ll probably get an idea. For better or worse, the Jedi Council ordered me to undergo “basic training” all over again. But what I found really odd was that the “manual” they gave me was written backwards! On the one hand, you’d think they’d make it easier for me the second time by giving me a manual that’s written in simple Galactic Basic. On the other hand, the manual might have been written by Yoda…which would explain a lot.
I did this cartoon for my Deviant Art page a couple of weeks ago. Right now, it seems eerily prophetic.
Update: 'Just saw the "National Treasure 2" trailer. Everybody's got a new look though I wonder what's up with Nicholas Cage's hair. Also, Cormac and Marianne Wibberley are collectively listed in the credits as "The Wibberleys".
More updates: 'Just saw the trailer for "Clone Wars 2". Suh-weet!

Back in the old days, I'd go out on the weekends and hang out in malls. Usually I'd go to far off malls like SM Megamall in Mandaluyong or Virra Mall in Greenhills. The trip to these malls would take about an hour or so by bus or jeepney.
Naturally, I'd dream about going to malls too. But the route that I'd take to these malls is fairly confusing. And the malls in my dreams look nothing like the malls I'd go to in real life. Some are upscale (like Shangri-la) and some are downscale (like Tutuban) and some are a mixture of both (like Glioretta and Goldcrest respectively).
There was one notable dream I had many years ago where I was on a bus and I was on a long trip. I don't know where I was supposed to be going or how I was supposed to get there. And that got me worried a bit. Eventually that happened to me in real life.
It was two years ago and it was my birthday. The entire family had lunch at Glorietta and after that, I went off on my lonesome to go galavanting about town. I'd heard that Anne Curtis (see below) was going to be at a show in SM Bicutan. But although I'd heard of Bicutan, I didn't for the life of me know where it was. So I went to a bus terminal along EDSA and as it happened, there were buses going to Bicutan there. I hoppped on one of those buses, paid my fare and asked the ticket guy to drop me off at Bicutan.
I was expecting the trip to take an hour or two...maybe longer. To my surprise, the trip took all of five...minutes. Imagine my relief and embarrassment.
In my dream this morning, I was at a mall (probably in Makati). For some reason I remember leaving my backpack in a plantbox outside the mall. I don't know why. I met my brother inside the mall and together, we took a ride home in the family car.
It was then that I remembered my backpack and I asked my brother to turn back so I can retrieve it. When we got to the plantbox, I was shocked to see that the backpack was nowhere to be found. My brother asked me where my bag was. To my embarrassment, I found the bag in front of me...right on my lap. Again, imagine my relief and embarrassment.
My other dream this morning was very weird. In it, we were still living in good ol' 1306 Jose F. Nieto Paco. Manila (which has since been demolished to make way for a new apartment building that was never built). All was quiet until we heard panic in the streets. People outside were screaming "Lock the doors!!! They're here!!!" I wondered what the fuss was all about until I took a peek outside and suddenly, there was this mysterious old man at the door. At that point, I tried to close the door but the old man was a lot more powerful that he looked and we wrestled with the door.
I later learned that the "they" the people were referring to were actually old guys who just wanted a ride home (to where I don't know). I didn't know how many there were but there must have been about a hundred of them to cause a panic like that. (Upon waking, I remarked that they were like a swarm of locusts.) That said, the dream was still weird. A lot of questions came to mind...like: Who were the old guys? What were they doing in Nieto Street? Why were there so many of them? Why were the neighbors panicking? Why didn't they just volunteer to take the old guys home? And last but not the least, why did I get the feeling that that wasn't the first time it happened?

Anne Curtis (mentioned below) currently appears in TV ads for GSM Blue. In my dream this mornng, I saw Filipina actress Angel Locsin in a similar ad. Actually, there were TV two ads: a solo ad and an ad where she is paired with an actor.
This dream was probably inspired by Anne Curtis' own GSM Blue TV ad and Angel Locsin's San Mig Coffee ad where she is paired with Filipino actor Piolo Pascual. I saw both ads last night while watching a dart tournament on TV.

Well...not exactly. In my latest dream, I'm confronted by a trio of roaches in the dining room. After driving them away, I'm confronted by another roach.
My mistake. As it turned out, it wasn't a roach at all. It looked more like a giant praying mantis or something. And as if that wasn't enough, the mantis thingie was actually siting on top of a giant insect creature that looked like a cross between a worm and a scorpion. Euwgh!
Note: This dream has nothing to do with the fact that "Spiderman 3" broke the opening-day record set by "Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man's Chest" last year. I haven't even seen Spiderman 3 yet.

First; two things:
1. I am an alien as are dad and bro. But we didn't come from another planet or anything.
2. I've been to Disneyland back in 1992. But I've never beeen to EPCOT.
In my dream, our family looks normal. But I have this sneaking suspicion that we may have extra-terrestrial connections. In one scene, I was standing on a sidewalk and there was little girl standing next to me. Suddenly, this flying saucer decked with marquee lights began hovering in front of us. I don't know how the little girl reacted to it but my reaction wasn't one of shock. I seemed amused by the whole thing as I remember chuckling at the sight of the flying saucer.
In the next scene, I was at home rummaging for a magazine in the bedroom. The bedroom was kind of dirty as there were a lot of dead insects lying around. There were some live ones too...they looked like giant maggots or something. I got myself a can of Raid and when I used it on the insects, they were instantly crushed. The Raid must have been an industrial-strength version that's not available yet. But crushing insects isn't all it's capable of doing. I used it on some other insects and they began mutating into some sort of miniature monsters. They I accidentally sprayed some on an old camera and lo and behold...the lens mutated into some sort of spider-creature.
I don't know what happened after that but the next scene was that of the entire family at the Ayala Commercial Center. At least it looked like the Ayala Commercial Center the way it was back in the 1970s...except that one of the buildings was the EPCOT Center! As if that wasn't enough, as we were waiting for the "EPCOT" to open, a flying saucer came by and dropped a second "EPCOT" next to the first. At the time, there weren't that many people at the ACC. But one had to wonder how they would react to the whole thing. Me? I chuckled...again.
As we were waiting, I gave the EPCOT Centers the once-over. For buildings that were dropped out of the sky by aliens, they looked fairly old and worn. I was particularly drawn to the drainage pipes near the entrance that were yellowing and rusty. At that point, I gave mom my camera and keys. Shortly, "EPCOT" was open and bro rushed to get inside. He was coughing and I thought it had something to do with the bug spray I used earlier. Mom asked for the keys and I told her I gave it to her. Sure enough, we found the keys are attached to her purse.
I think it was at that time that I woke up to find the TV tuned in to Nickelodeon where I saw a prototype version of "Fairly Odd Parents". There was also "Doodlez"...in color. It looked like an episode of "Invader Zim" what with the huge space battleships. At this point, I thought I might still be dreaming. But no.

Did you ever have one of those dreams where you missed an exam? That happened to me quite a lot back in the old days. And considering that scene in the movie "Top Secret!", that must happen to a lot of other people as well. In fact, in my dream it's like I was going to a different school every time.
The thing is, I actually missed a math exam back in college. But I dreamt about missing exams after I graduated. And to this day, I still feel like I should be submitting some sort of architectural homework to finish my course.
Anyway, in my dream this morning, I dreamt that I was actually able to take the exam. That's the goood news. The bad news was that I didn't know the answers to the exam questions. The exam was like a pop quiz enumeration thing and it looks something like this: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0449088/board/thread/73132996?p=3&d=73174442#73174442 that I posted just yesterday.
I'm thinking the reason why my mind was blank during the exam was that I saw "her" in my dream. Well...not "her" exactly. Actually, it was a picture of "her" on the cover of the "Philippine Star Ngayon" tabloid. Who "her"? I'd rather not say. She's a well-known actress here in the Philippines. But to me, she is "the-one-who-shall-not-be-named". (As a clue, her name is similar to a "T" in "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest". And I don't mean "Tia Dalma".) The sight of her proved to be distracting and whatever it was I learned the "previous day", I'd completely forgotten during the exam.
The funny thing about that dream was...as I was flubbing the exam, I thought to myself, "What the heck, I could probably take the exam all over again". Then I thought, "Ah, who cares? This is probably just one of those 'I-missed-an-exam' dreams and I'll wake up realizing that I no longer go to school". Weird.
UPDATE: As I wrote this (May 2, 2007), I checked the "Philippine Star Ngayon" website and saw that while "her" picture wasn't on the cover (It was KC Concepcion's), "her" name was. Creepy.

Continuing my celebrity motif, I dreamt about Mary-Kate and Ashley this morning. It's no surprise really. I've been a big fan of theirs since thier debut in "Full House" almost two decades ago. It also helped that I had one of their books, a novelization of their video "Winning London", tucked over my pillow. (What that implies regarding dream research, I don't yet know. But it does make for an interesting theory.)
This is the third time I deamt about them. I dreamt about them separately the first time...Mary-Kate was in a movie (possibly referring to "Factory Girl") and Ashley was featured in an interior design magazine (This is more or less compatible with their real world interests). The second time I dreamt about them, they were yea high. Back then, my dream must have been tuned in to "The Adventures of Mary-Kate & Ashley" (which I haven't seen in real life) where they were dressed in grey construction suits with helmets and orange neon reflectors.
My third MK&A dream starts in the real world. A couple of months back, my brother and his wife had a spat and she's currently living in Pasig with their son. The dream starts with my brother and I at the corner of Escoda St. and Taft Avenue. I don't know what we were doing there...perhaps to talk to a lawyer or have some legal papers prepared. I can't say for sure.
As it happened, I was carrying drawings of Mary-Kate and Ashley with me then...possibly to have them photocopied. Besides being an amateur 3D CGI artist, I'm also an amateur portraitist. You can check my drawings over at Deviant Art. And yes, I do have my drawings photocopied so that I'd have back-up line drawings in case I mess up the rendering.
While looking through my drawings, the scene changed to that of what looked like Mary-Kate and Ashley rehearsing a dance number for an upcoming TV birthday special. In my dream, they looked to be 14 years old. In reality, they'll be turning 21 on June 13. The scene is similar to the dance number they did in a behind-the-scenes segment of the "So Litle Time" videos.
The scene then shifts back to Taft Avenue where, to my surprise, I found my drawing of Filipina-German actress Nadine Samonte beneath my Mary-Kate and Ashley drawing.

This morning I dreamt about Filipina actress Maja Salvador. I don't know if in my dream I'm supposed to be seeing her on TV or "in person" so I can't say much about that except that she seemed surprised about it as I am.

I don't remember much about my dream this morning...except that I was in an art class taking up a course in 3D animation (I've been doing a lot of 3D artwork lately). Our intructor was this old lady but as with my dream, I don't remember much about her. There was this nebulous quality to her...and I got this distinct feeling that she was dead.
This used to happen a lot as far as my dreams are concerned. I'd see people in my dreams...people with distinct features and yet people I know I've never seen before. And for some reason...they were dead...and angry.
The old lady in my dream reminds of Miss Edelson from the first "Men In Black" movie. Thankfully, she's nowhere near as nasty.

...I don't remeber much about my dream last night / this morning. I do remember the last part where I was at this dingy abandoned building that used to be a shopping mall. The presence of well-to-do people belie its "dingy, abandoned" status. And I get the feeling that this people may buy that building to either refurbish it or tear it down to make way for a new one.
In hindsight, those "well-to-do" people folks look like members of a religious congregation and it seems that they might turn the building into some sort of church. There's a religious group here in the Philippines who call themselves "Victory" and they've recently purchased the abandoned movie section of the Harrison Plaza mall and opened up a storefront church. They've done similar things in other malls and they've began popping up all over the place. All this on a Goood Friday...
That said, the abandoned building is also occupied by homeless people. In one area, there was a father who was chastising his adult son about forcing his wife to live in derelict conditions. The son shoots back and said that if he had the money, he'd buy his wife an apartment. I remember thinking that if I had a wife...and plenty of dough...I'd buy her a house instead. It was then that I dreamt within a dream (fantasize, actually) about having lunch in this huge veranda overlooking a garden that was as big as a golf course. For some reason, I do always fantasize about that.

Note: As I write this (April Fool’s Day 2K7), our Internet connection is down.
So anyway, I was watching Star Wars on TV. It was supposed to be Episode IV…but it sure don’ look like any Episode IV I’ve seen. (Boy are the other fan boys gonna be pissed!) Then again, maybe it’s either of the two upcoming Star Wars TV series. I’m not sure. (Wow! Two Star Wars TV series! What’ll they think of next?)
After the screening, my brother and I drove to this book repair shop…under the bridge. (“Sometimes I feel like…Anthony Keidis.” And on that note, I think I smell a pattern here.) The shop was supposed to be located around Plaza Dilao near the Knights of Columbus building. In reality, I don’t know of any book repair shop…or bridge near Plaza Dilao. As my brother and I were waiting for the books to be finished, we spy some sort of Star Wars exhibit (Don’t ask me what it’s doing inside the book repair shop. I don’t know either.) that consisted of a multiple TV display where every TV monitor was labeled in Aurabesh…except for a TV monitor displaying the picture of a bounty hunter whose name was “_____ Hoag” written in Latin alphabet. (I forgot his first name.)
Eventually, my brother got tired of waiting and went to the car to get his portable gaming console. But “portable” it may be, it kinda huge. It’s as big as my old sound View Master. I got bored myself and I went into the shop’s office to inquire about our books. Inside the office a lady staff member informed me that they weren’ ready yet and requested that I “never come back to the office again, thank you”. (“No, I don’t believe I’m familiar with the term ‘Vyatch’” – Greg Proops in Whose Line Is It, Anyway?)

This year, Nicole Kidman will star in a remake of the 1956 sci-fi classic "Invasion of the Body Snatchers". My dream is a variation of the movie.
It all began when a team of paranormal invastigators led by a guy who looks like Donal Logue who, coincidentally, I first saw in the X-Files episode "Squeeze". (He later starred in the sitcom "Grounded for Life" and appeared as Nicholas Cage's sidekick in the recent "Ghost Rider".)
As with my previous dream (see below), I don't know if I was watching said investigation on the TV or if I was part of the aciton. All I know is Donal Logie and company were suppposed to be investigating this house (in the Philippines...possibly Makati City) that was suppposed to be haunted. It was about four stories tall and supposedly the lights would eerily go on and off by themselves. (I remember running up and down the stairs and the lights would go on and off everytime "we" reach the stair landing).
Apparently, the "haunted house" was inhabited by five homeless street children. But things were not what they seem. Those "street children" were actually shape-shifting extraterrestrials. In their true form, they look like Zetas (the so-called "greys from Zeta Reticuli"). Like the Ferengi in Star Trek, they're also egotistical and vicious.
But eventually, the aliens were defeated (I don't remeber how) and they were forced to hide among the general populace in their "street urchin" form living among the poor folk. They even put up this innocent waif-like appearance but still, I couldn't help wanting to hit them on the back of the head (and none too gently) knowing what they really are and what they're really capable of doing.
The dream ended as I found myself at a newstand looking over two issues of "Funny Komiks" (now-defunct). One had a local version of anime Mazinger Z and the other had a local version of the anime NG Knight Lamune & 40 on the cover...which I think is both appropriate and ironic given the circumstances.

A few years ago, I read "Badge of Evil", a 1950s crime novel that became the basis for the classic film noir movie "Touch of Evil" by Orson Welles. Shortly after finishing the novel, I posted a summary on my Entertainment USA blog and even contributed the summary as an article to Wikipedia.
Anyway, my latest dream is very similar to "Badge of Evil". It's like an updated version of a 1950s movie that's based on a crime novel. That story in my dream has a cop investigating the death of another cop who had died half a century ago. The story seems to revolve around the testimony of the dead cop's partner (a Mexican cop who for some reason looks like Ron Jeremy) recounting their last case.
That last case was a drug bust at a gangster's house. Now, I know I wasn't part of the story. My dream is supposed to be a movie after all. So I found it odd to see myself (first-person perspective) crouching in the backseat of a getaway car as the Mexican cop is pulling the car out of the gangster's garage and the "dead cop" is riding shotgun...literally. It's like reverse meta-fiction.
The dream ends inconclusively as I'm "awakened" by the sounds of dogs barking. I go downstairs to find Mom feeding three dogs by putting food in a plastic vat. (One of the dogs got too greedy and pulled the vat away from the other two.)
It was after that scene that I REALLY wake up to find that the barking dog actually came from the neighbor's house behind me. (In my dream, we were supposed to be still living in good ol' 1306 Nieto St. which was demolished to make way for a new apartment building.)

Over the nearly four decades of my existence, I've lived in about six domiciles. The first was in Yokohama, Japan where I was born and the rest were here in the Philippines. We lived in a house in 1306 Jose F. Nieto St. Paco, Manila for about 24 years and moving mania came about in 1995 where we moved into 5 different houses in as many years. We've been living in our current address for seven years now.
In my dream, we were about to move into another house. From what I can remember, the house looks to be located in Makati...a city adjoining the Paco, Manila district. For some reason, the "place under the bridge" motif was back (see "You're NOT in the army now" entry).
But before we can move in, we had to live in a "halfway" house. In 1998, before we moved into a house in Cuevas St...also in Paco...we temporaily lived in a pension house near Taft Avenue. But the pension house in my dream looked more like that flophouse in the movie "The Pursuit of Happyness" where Chris Gardner and his son stayed the night. And as with Chris and his son, we had to share the room with a bunch of other people.

I've had three dreams last night and this morning. And if you think that's weird, wait 'til you hear what those dreams were.
In the first dream, I was a member of a submarine crew. The sub was sinking and the only way out was through the torpedo tube...or something that looked like it. The trouble was, the "torpedo tube" was flooded.
This is similar to a dream I had last year where me and two other guys were on the top floor of a building and we had to get from one side to the other through a drainage pipe (???) which itself was flooded.
The second dream supposedly took place at my grandparents' home in Quezon City here in the Philippines. Curiously, there was a photo session going on...in the bathroom, of all places. It's nothing cheap or kinky. In fact, the photo session is similar to Annie Leibovitz' photo of Whoopi Goldberg in a bathtub filled with milk. I won't mention who the model is (she's an American actress and my first choice to play "Virginia West") and she was wearing a black negligee (and seeing it in the water made me gag for some reason). No milk was used in photographing that model.
The third dream was more prosaic...but no less weird. Quoth Nick Rivers: "I'm back in school! Oh no, I can't believe it! I'm back in school!" Thankfully, it doesn't seem to be that I was enrolled that time. Anyway, I was standing inside a waiting shed and it was raining. I was trying to hail a jeepney but there wasn't any that was going my way. I finally decided to flag down a taxi cab and I was on my way to my destination (I forgot where). But along the way, the cab stopped and I was forced to alight said taxi cab. I was even forced to pay the cabbie more that I was supposed to. Bummer.

Nope. But I did take military training of some sort back in high school and college.
In this dream, I was hanging out in a park somewhere. It looked for all the world like Plaza Lawton because of the overhead bridge. It was early evening when this limo pulled up and from it emerged what looked like a wedding entourage. I remembered being thrilled about it short of saying, "Oh, I love weddings! Drinks all around!"
The groom and possibly the bride were probably military officers because the entourage wore formal military uniforms. They also had various military regalia decorating the park where I was. Under the bridge, there was a makeshift shrine. I remember walking up to the shrine out of curiosity. I was embarrassed to find out that the shrine was guarded by a soldier. I gave the shrine a quick salute and marched off as quickly as I could.
I saluted with my right arm but I remember one of the officers saluting wth his left and I wondered if that was permissible under military rules.

I was fourteen years old when I last dreamt about dragons. It was 1982 and that was when the movie "Q" came about. "Q" stands for "Quetzalcoatl" an Aztec god . Stephen Colbert once mentioned him in The Daily Show's "This Week in God" segment.
Here in the Philippines, "Q" was released under the title, "The Winged Serpent"...which Quetzalcoatl is. I never saw the movie itself...only the trailer. But I must have been freaked out by it.
In this dream, I remember finding some sort of scaly hide that might have belonged to some animal. I put the hide in the fridge. Why I don't know. I go outside from a while when all of a sudden, a dragon bursts through the roof of our house.
The scene of the dragon spreading his wings in the sky is similar to the scene in 1989 when I saw a prehistoric jet figter over our house strafing MalacaƱang Palace with bullets...and this wasn't a dream.
So anyway, I run to my uncle's house (three houses down) and as soon as I get to the door, the dragon swoops down on me. But before it drops down, it transforms into...get this...a human-sized Chinese ninja! Yes. The letters "WTF" comes to mind.
In my recent dream, I was at a convention out of town. It was night and I was in a hotel building a couple of stories up overlooking a forest. I remember going back and forth to the convention, when suddenly, the forest catches fire. The rest of the convention attendees ignore this and the evening proceeds uneventfully...save for the forest fire.
When the convention ends, I found myself in the crowded corridor looking at the forest fire. All of a sudden, I realize why it was on fire...as a flock of dragons flew out of the forest towards the hotel!
And then, I woke up.

And I don't mean the Purple One (I loved his rendition of the Foo Fighter's "The Best of You" at Superbowl XLI). I meant the Prince of England. Me. I was being groomed to be a replacement royalty. Weird.
I dreamt this the same morning I'd dreamt of Rhian Denise Ramos (see below). I don't know if there's a connection. That said, I don't believe I have even an ounce of British blood in me. I'm a Japan-born Filipino-American of Chinese, Spanish and possibly Italian ancestry. I've never dreamt of being a prince either. I see myself as a "Lone Wolf McQuade" type. I don't really fancy being a prince...unless the title comes with a lot of moolah.
But there I was in Britian (I've never been to Britain, by the way). I was on the third floor of a building overlooking some sort of large British estate. And I've got these guys trying to teach me how to act like royalty (sort of like that movie "King Ralph" which I hadn't seen since the last millenium).
Curiously, one of those guys was...well, I'm not going to mention his name. I've embarrassed myself enough as it is I don't want to embarrass him too. Let's just say he's a relatively young actor who plays a knight in Star Wars.
So, anyway, after being briefed by OB1 and the secret service guys, I was given documents...presumably written by the guy whom I was supposed to be replacing. One of those documents was a list of people he admired and would like to meet. I noticed two familiar names on the list and I remember being thrilled that I might able to meet them in person at last! After all, I'm a huge fan of theirs...tee-hee! But OB1 crosses out they're names. Bummer!
Then it's Q&A time. OB1 asks me questions that the British press might bring up. He asks me a hypothetical question about my girlfriend. I forgot what the question was butI remember giving him an offhand answer. In response, OB1 screams "WHAT?!!!" I then change my answer to a more regal, "Why, no. Of course not." Like I said...weird.
I dreamt all this before it was announced that Britain's Prince Harry signed up to join the British Army in Iraq. Although I'm not British, I hope my dream isn't a bad omen and I hope nothing bad happens to the guy.

In this dream, I was sitting on a bench at night in front of our house. All of a sudden, I saw Filipino-British actress Rhian Denise Ramos emerge from an alley next to our house.
I'd earlier dreamt of Rhian last year...that I saw her on TV in a movie that was supposed to star Tommy Lee Jones. In that dream she was in a restaurant of some sort wearing a red dress.
I don't remember what she was wearing in this dream. All I remember is she seemed to be looking for something. She was about to enter our house but she stopped by the entrance. I remember calling out to her...telling her, "No, go right ahead."
I don't remeber what happened next but I do remember that she was looking for her bag. It was a white ladies' bag and I think I even got to see what's inside.
I don't know why I've dreamt of Rhian Denise Ramos twice. But becuase of that, I decided to put up a picture of her in my desktop wallpaper. That wallpaper is available at the iGMA website.

I set up this blog because over the past couple of weeks I've been having these vivid dreams. They're weird...but no more than usual.
My dreams are usually of the familiar yet different variety. They're familiar in the sense that the settings are fairly recognizable....such as SM Makati and even our house. But I tend to dream about them in ways I've never seen them before. After all, SM Makati isn't made of red bricks. And our house hardly ever looks the same way twice. (Although recently, it does.)
Anyway, I've been having a lot of these kinds of dreams lately. Here are my four most recent dreams:
