In this dream, my mother was going to buy groceries and she left me this snake to take care of. In real life, we don't have a pet snake but I remember a neighbor of ours had one.
So she left me the snake by wrapping it around my finger. It must've been a baby viper considering the way it looked and the fact that the whole thing fit my finger with room to spare.
Now I'm wary around dangerous animals...especially if that animal was a snake. So to make sure I don't get bitten, I gently pressed the viper's head against its body. But every time I did that, the viper would bite itself. I don't, for the life of me, know why it would do that but the bite caused the viper to bleed. Again, I gently pressed the viper's head and again, it bit itself.
When I pressed its head a third time, the viper bled profusely. That's when I woke up...gasping for breath.

Coincidence? I think not! (See entry below)

In this dream, I may be in grade school or high school. Whatever the case may be, I was competing in an art contest where students were to draw pictures on a blackboard in front of a live audience.
I was watching the other students draw and I had to admit, their drawings were beautiful. At the time, I wondered what I'd be drawing. I figured that since I had an interest in architecture, I'd draw houses and/or buildings. I don't know why, but instead of drawing a single edifice, I decided to draw a street scene and a cityscape.
This reminds me of the time I was in high school. Every time class elections were held, I was always chosen as the secretary. That meant, I kept track of students' daily attendance on the blackboard. It was during a homeroom period that we had nothing to do and I was told to "decorate" the attendance section. With chalk in hand, I filled the blackboard with X-wing fighters from the movie Star Wars and the Chrsyler Building from the movie Q. (Back then, I mistook the Chrysler Building for the Empire State Building.)
This is more than I can say for my dream. When it was my turn to draw, I found that I didn't know how to draw a street scene or a cityscape!

P.S.: This dream also came true...sort of. I'm currently working on a couple of comic book illustrations that I'll be submitting to the Viper Comics Talent Search '09.

In my Entertainment Japan blog, I wrote about the Mount Pinatubo eruption that occured here in the Philippines way back in 1991. I mentioned that at the time of the eruption, day turned to night as the tephra fallout blocked out the sun within Mount Pinatubo's vicinity. I specified that the 3:00 P.M. sky looked like it was 6:00 P.M.
The opposite happened in my dream. I was in a parking lot and the sky was lit up like it was late afternoon. But I looked at my watch and it was actually 9:00 P.M. This reminded me of a Little League baseball game I saw on television years ago. The game was held in a city in California. The game looked like it was being played just before sunset. Imagine my surprise when the television announcer said that it was actually 9:00 P.M.
In my other dream, I was in my bedroom when I heard a recurring metallic sound coming from downstairs. Descending the stairs, I found my mother in the living room slicing something on a plate. To her left was my father who was lying in a fetal position sleeping. Mom seemed upset about something. At one point, she threw a duffel bag onto a sofa as if she was about to pack.
There are two things peculiar about this dream. One: Dad doesn't live with us anymore so to find him sleeping at home is kind of strange. Two: when I woke up, I heard the same recurring metallic sound that I did in my dream.

This one's a double-bill. The first has something to do with a school exam. I don't know if it's a pop quiz or a mid-term exam. But what made this dream interesting is the person officiating the exam. She's an American actress and...well, I don't think I can give any details beyond that. But the fact that she's famous (and how!) seems to have flown over our heads as we spent most of our homeroom period with our noses in our school textbooks.
In my next dream, I was trying to get rid of some merchandize. They look like the small toys that come with McDonald's Happy Meals. The reason why I'm trying to get rid of them has nothing to do with the toys themselves and as with the previous dream, I can't divulge anymore than that.
What made this dream interesting is the way I disposed the toys. I did it by returning to the store where I purchased them. There, I'd surreptitiously place the toys back in the very shelves that I found them.

UPDATE (07-19-09): It seems that the second dream came true...sort of. I was at a toy store yesterday with my mother and my nephew. I was looking at some plastic toy animals when lo and behold I saw Scrat from the Ice Age movies. What's unusual about it is that while all the other animals are generic toys, Scrat is a licensed product. Not only that, but that particular Scrat toy is the same one that comes with the McDonald's Happy Meal set for the recent Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs movie. To further complicate things, that toy was missing its...er...nut.
