V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N

Boy, am I in a bind right now! I live in a crappy neighborhood. I have health problems. And most recently, I have financial problems as well. The way I feel right now, I wish I were on a vacation! And this morning, I got my wish...sort of.

I dreamt I was in a vacation somewhere far away. I don't know where it was exactly but I know the commute was rather long. I'm not sure how I got there (Jeep? Bus?) but I get a clue later in the dream. The place itself was a mystery. Right now, I'm guessing it might be the so-called "Mountain Province"...what with the presence of people that looked like Igorots as well as chapels that boast of Spanish architectural details that make them look like the Barasoain Church.

As in most of my dreams, the place had many quirks:

1. I remember encountering certain relics in my dream that made the place look like ancient Egypt for some reason. That's probably because I was watching "The Mummy Returns" on cable late last night and early this morning.

2. Outside one of the chapels was a huge stylized statue of a little Igorot boy. The statue must have been illuminated by a lamp of some sort because it glowed a pink-purple-sky blue color.

3. Chapels are usually adorned with a crucifix above its entrance to identify it as belonging to a Christian denomination. The chapels in my dream were adorned with something else. In fact, one of them was adorned by a Chinese-Japanese letter. Basically, it was a cross that has a line underneath. It forms the word "shi" which means "warrior".

Despite these (or because of these) the dream had a pleasant quality to it. The place was sunny...marked by a clear blue morning sky. Looking at the sky, I found myself trying to figure out how to get home. It was then that I spied the LRT but not the LRT as I knew it. Instead of being perched on drab monolithic stone piers, this LRT stood on top of a bright yellow aqueduct-like structure with arches adorned by red bricks.
